Like most people, CrossFit has changed my life. After six months of CrossFit, I decided to learn more of CrossFit’s methods and ideology of constantly varied functional movements. I then began to acquire certifications through CrossFit HQ.

With the CrossFit method and skill sets, I’ve started to compete in various CrossFit Events, Frogman Challenges, Mud Runs, and any other test of fitness. As a Coach at CrossFit by Overload Murrieta, I would like to share my knowledge and passion for living a healthy lifestyle. “The needs of Olympic Athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.” With this as an essential principle, I want to continue to learn and extend to others the fundamental skills needed in everyday life.

I coach because I love spending my time with people who want to change their lives for the better. Once someone has made that choice, no matter what their starting point is, I am part of a team of coaches that are going to get that person to where they want to be. Seeing someone achieve a personal victory is such an amazing experience, I feel extremely privileged to be a part of that.

As the Endurance coach I love to take someone who “hates running” and show them a better way to run. Our Endurance program at CFOM will make both the experienced and inexperienced runner faster and more efficient it will increase their overall endurance in the CrossFit workouts, in other sports and in life.

I have always taken pride in our coaching at Overload since day one. I have had some of the best trainers around. I wanted to continue that legacy by getting certified and spreading my knowledge of CrossFit to other people. It has changed me in so many ways. I’m stronger, faster, more disciplined, and overall much healthier. If I can help even one person to achieve at least one of their goals, it would make it all worthwhile. Why not be a part of the healthiest community that you can or be surrounded by the most supportive, encouraging, and positive individuals around?

My career in CrossFit started in 2013 and I started coaching CrossFit in 2014. I'm proud to have attended the Outlaw Way Olympic Lifting Camp. Health and fitness have always been a part of my life. I grew up playing baseball and football. Staying healthy and fit is how you got to keep playing. This mindset allowed me to continue to play a little baseball in college. Fitness to me truly is a lifestyle and I have passed on that tradition to my kids and other kids as a travel baseball coach in my spare time. Coaching and training is not a passion that I love to share, it's what I do.

All I knew growing up was gymnastics, it was my life! I spent hours in the gym; blood, sweat and tears for 15 years until I made it as a level 9 competitive gymnast. Being an athlete can take its’ toll on your body, so I decided to become a coach and help others. I wanted to mentor other’s in the same way thatmy mentors helped me. I’ve spent the last 13 years coaching at all levels. I started with 18 month Mommy & Me’s classes onto working my way up as an Elite level gymnastics coach for some of the most amazing college bound athletes.

My new passion began in February 2010, I was seven months pregnant with my daughter and I tried CrossFit for the first time… And I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! I love that I get to put my talents to the test on a daily basis and continue to challenge myself everyday. I am always striving to be better than the day before.

Now I have the opportunity to coach agility and work with some incredibly determined adults. It’s a great feeling to help someone conquer a new skill for the first time!

CrossFit is my world. It has guided me on a path I am proud of and has allowed me to watch everyone in my life realize their potential. I've been lucky enough to have been coached by so many amazing instructors within the CFO walls and it has led me to want to share everything I've learned through coaching classes of my own. I'm super proud to be on staff at CrossFit by Overload.

Hey, My nickname is “Yapper.”  I’ve been at Overload since May 2011 and where I started my CrossFit journey. I intern coached for about 8 months and got my level 1 in December 2013. I am a proud mom of 2 wonderful kiddos and have my big kid job working in law enforcement.

I’ve always been the active type and very competitive. I love learning and playing all sports and activities. From about 3 through 17, I was always in shape and involved in something. After graduating high school though; I had my son, got married, had my daughter, bought a house… my physical activities consisted of running around with my littles and chores. I tried zumba, step, cycle, cable machines, boot camps, stroller strides, kick boxing… nothing worked or held my interest.

I never wanted to do CrossFit but got guilt tripped into trying it out for a week with a close friend. I hated it the first 2 days, then on the 3rd day I saw some OG Overloaders doing some amazing things and my old competitive drive kicked in. In my time at Overload, I have not only been in the best shape of my life but also have built friendships that have carried me through some of the hardest times of my life.

CrossFit Gymnastics

Exercise and sports have always been a huge part of my life.  Before CrossFit I was a gym rat and constantly on the hunt for the next new thing.  After having my first child in 2002, I began a training program for a 5k.  My first 5k.  My first time ever running more than a mile.  A friend and I both entered and completed the 5k November 2003.  Pushing our stroller and running for over 3 miles was the hardest thing either of us had ever done.  A month later we signed up with Team and Training to run the 2004 San Diego Rock n’ Roll Marathon.  It was during this training program that I became hooked – as a runner that is. Fast forward 6 years later, 1 more child, 5 years of Stroller Strides, a marathon, many half marathons, kickboxing classes and bootcamps under my belt.  I found CrossFit.   CrossFit was different from any other training program I’d ever been a part of.  Every workout felt like a huge accomplishment. Every day was something new.  CrossFit has changed my life. It’s given me a mental and physical toughness, I don’t think I’d have otherwise.to

I am originally from New York and ventured out to California to obtain my Doctorate in Chiropractic. I’ve played sports since I was five and received a couple of opportunities to play professional soccer and lacrosse. Apparently, the WNBA didn’t feel the need for a 4’10” center. Their loss. My favorite thing about CrossFit is how it parallels completely to daily life with it’s functional fitness. I’ve enjoyed everyday of my journey since joining Overload. When you see me around the gym I’ll always have at least 5 bobby pins in my hair and probably be talking about food, mostly donuts, coffee or some crazy food from the 80’s. I look forward to meeting you soon.

‘Fitness is my passion, it is something I love doing. My greatest satisfaction comes from having a positive impact on people’s lives and seeing their health and confidence grow.’

Exercise and sports have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up, I played Basketball, Volleyball and Track. Some of my fondest memories come from playing these sports. From an early age I experienced first-hand the direct association between sport, fitness and personal satisfaction.

So, for the last 8 years I have been a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I have loved my fitness journey every step of the way. In 2013, CrossFit By Overload came to my gym and I decided to see what it was about. I was hooked. I found myself challenged mentally and physically. I became stronger, faster. Every day was different and challenging. It was exactly what I wanted and needed. When I’m not training or coaching, I enjoy the outdoors, photography and spending time with my people.

CrossFIt Rowing

I played many non-traditional sports as a young child, teen and young adult. As a young teen, I competed and was ranked nationally in speed skating. Later on,  I was fortunate enough to play internationally in competitive paintball tournaments. I was an avid snow skier, cyclist, and just about any other type of sport that came my way. I have to admit that I was never great at any one particular sport, but I often enjoyed learning and playing any new activity. I was sort of a Jack of all trades, master of none. As the years slipped by and life got in the way, many of these activities fell by the wayside. Fast forward to being almost 40 years old, left the mortgage industry, lost and out of shape, I walked into CrossFit By Overload.

I started my CrossFit journey as a devoted member at Overload. The community was so welcoming and the workouts were exactly what I felt that I had been missing from the globo gym regimen. I was immediately hooked and trained hard everyday. I have mentioned it many times, I enjoy being a part of all the member’s CrossFit journey. I enjoy being present when many of them get their first pull up, first muscle up or maybe just ran their first 400m without stopping. Every milestone for every member makes me smile. It is these moments that make me proud of what Overload has done and continues to do for so many people. As a husband of one and a father of two (I wish it was the other way around. jk), Overload has been the perfect place for our family to flourish. We all have the opportunity to work out together and bond. Becoming part of the Overload legacy has been one of the greatest gifts that I could have ever asked
